I just discovered something very strange today about the Make Money Online Niche. If you type ‘Make Money Online‘ in Google, take a careful look at the top 5 results.
I guess Google just updated their database. What do you people think?
In order to make money online, this is one important skill that you need to have which is the Art of Selling and you need to master it. I was totally blown away when I read about Adam Khoo latest blog entry on: Don’t Like to Sell? Then You Will Never Be Rich! There are a few things I would like to quote from his blog entry that I can identify myself with:
To be honest, when I first started, I felt uncomfortable with selling too. I felt uneasy asking people to give me money (which is what selling is all about). I had the wrong perception that the person who sells gains at the expense of the person buying
I have these kind of feelings myself but now I no longer have these feelings because as long as I know that the product can help someone, it’s a win win situation so there is no need to feel bad about
Then, I realized that if you provide a product or a service that truly adds value to people’s lives, then it is a win win situation. You are helping that person solve a problem, meet a need or achieve a desire/goal. At the same time, you get rewarded for the value you have created for that person. So, go forth and create value to the whole world… and become rich in the process.
This is what I have learnt and I hope it has benefited you as well.
I have finally managed to earn some money through Google Adsense. It’s not a lot but it’s a good start that what I’m doing is on track. How I did it was to submit my articles to one of the top article directory call Ezine. So far most of my vistors came from there. For people who wants increased long term web site traffic and to earn from Google Adsense, my suggestion is to submit your articles which can be in the form of your blog entries over to Ezine.
Based on my tracking, search engine traffic has started coming in since last week. It’s another good sign that the pages that have been indexed by Google are been picked up by people. Now what I’m planning to do is to further optimised my blog entries based on those search terms that people have used to find my blog.
Another good thing that has happened is that my Technorati rank have jumped 2 million ranks. From an initial rank of 5 million to my current 3 million and someone came to my blog through Sneezit, something I have not even heard of.

- SEO-optimised my blog entries
- Submit to StumbleUpon
- Submit to Digg
There are more things I have planned to do to increase my web site traffic so continue to come back to BloggingDotProfits.
I must say how to increase blog traffic is one of the most common questions asked by a lot of people but are they doing anything about it? Do they know what to do to increase it? You cannot simply complain about not having enough blog traffic because you have not done anything to increase it.
Ask yourself these questions first:
- Do you have good content on your website or blog?
This is one of the major factor that even I myself are facing. It’s not easy to come out with good content if you are someone who don’t like writing. The simple solution is to get ghost writers to write those articles for you but you have to fork out the money. Another solution is, depending on your website or blog theme, search the top 10 websites, take down notes and summarise it and write an article about it. Make it a point to produce 2 quality articles a day and in one month you will have 60 articles. Eventually you will have a content rich blog or website. It takes time but it can be done. 2 articles is not that difficult. Even if you do have good content, you still need to make it known.
- Are you writing according to market demand?
A lot of people simply fire up their blog and start writing without giving this a thought. Are you writing for yourself only or you are hoping that someone will want to read as well? If you are writing for someone, you must make sure that someone can find your article. Refer to Increase Targeted Web Site Traffic - Meta Keyword Research and Increase Web Traffic - SEO Optimisation. The purpose of doing search engine optimisation is for long term traffic. You can’t expect immediate traffic. If you want immediate traffic, using Pay per click is one of the fastest.
- Have you make it known?
After you have done it, submit them to blog directories and article directories like Ezine. Submit also to Web 2.0 websites like facebook, digg, stumbleupon, technorati, squidoo etc… You will soon get increased web traffic but whether it will be consistent will depend on the quality of your content, whether it will attract your readers or visitors to come back again.
Start asking youself these 3 questions and if you can answer it, I can be sure you will get the increased blog traffic you want.
After blogging for so many days, about 2 weeks, I have got 31 pages index by Google which shows that Google’s web spider are making his rounds. I attribute it to the power of blogs particularly wordpress blogs and the pinging function which informs the web spider that there are new content.
There are two important Google command you can use which are site: and link:
site: is used to check how Google index your pages and it also tells you how you should improve your SEO optimisation efforts. This is how you use it:
site:www.yourdomainname.com
Another command that is useful is link: It allows you to check how many backlinks you have.
link:www.yourdomainname.com
Remember to take down these two important Google commands today.
You can also use it to check on your competitors.
For example I use site:www.shoemoney.com, he has got 8870 pages index. That can be a number I can aim for. The more pages you have, the better for people to find your blog provided to optimised them properly with the search engine keywords.
Like everyone else who is into making money online, some people went in hoping to make a lot of money but they gave up when they don’t see any money in their bank account. This is the same mistake that a lot of people are making. You should not have these kind of mentality at all. If your mentality is just about making money, I can gurantee you that you will not be very successful. No doubt that you will be able to make some money but it won’t be a lot.
Take for example Problogger who is now making a 6 figure income, I believe he didn’t have the “I want to make money” mentality. He started blogging as an interest and he did it with lots of passion. He is able to produce good quality content that people would love to read. I myself love to read his blog because it has a lot of useful information. I even take down some of his notes for reference.
From a reader’s perspective, you can see whether a person is just there for the money or he really wants to add value to his reader. So in order not to make the same mistake that the rest of the people are making, you got to find out what are your hobbies or things that you know a lot. One of the benefit of this is that you will be able to last longer and you will enjoy it more. Secondly, the things you produce will be much better which can have a viral effect. From a blogger’s point of view, he will definitely get a lot of traffic.
So do not repeat the same mistake again.
I guess a lot of people should already know by now that Google web spider love blogs or rather blogs are loved by web spiders. And they love blogs that are updated frequently. Since they love blogs so much, why not we welcome them by doing our part which is to describe to them what our blog or blog entries are about. Now I will talk about the various wordpress plugins I have installed on my blog and they are the bare minimum I would suggest wordpress bloggers to install on their blogs:
One of the way to make money online is actually through Google adsense. This entry is actually a mini Google Adsense Tutorial for people who are using Wordpress. It can also be apply to websites as well. 
First, you got to have an adsense account with Google. Go to https://www.google.com/adsense/login/en_US/ to sign up for an account. You can use your gmail account if you got one. If not click on sign up.

Today I shall touch on the very important topic of Meta Keyword Research. It is related to my previous entry on: http://www.bloggingdotprofits.com/blog-traffic-building-tips/increase-web-traffic-seo-optimisation. Meta Keyword research in my opionion should be done concurrently with SEO Optimisation. With these two processes, you can be sure of long term targeted web site traffic which a lot of people has been complaining that there isn’t enough or how to increase web traffic.
Personally I feel that for a new website or a new blog, the foundation should be laid properly. I’m referring to SEO Optimisation and meta keyword research. I have already lay a good foundation and I am sure I will be able to give a good report as to whether my seo optimisation will paid off. Stay tune to BloggingDotProfits for my report. I hope to be like Shoemoney who make over 100k purely from adsense.
I shall now touch on how I did it. First of all you need this Wordtracker tool which you can get the link from my tools page or you can also use this tool which I find it very useful. After you got your tool ready, think of a general word. I will use “proven work from home” as an example. You should get about 100 daily searches. Multiply it by 31 and you will get 3100. This is your demand figure. Next go to Google and type in “proven work from home”. You should get around 3,080,000. This is your supply figure. Take the two numbers and divide and you will get a ratio of 0.001 or thereabout. A perfect ratio is where at least 1 demand to 1 supply. If there is 10 demand to 1 supply, the ratio will be 10 so the higher the ratio, the better. This is the method of how I get my meta keyword demand and supply ratio.
For each blog entry, you should target to get not more than 5 related keywords and optimise them in your blog. Refer to my previous entry if you are not sure. Feel free to leave any comments.
I mentioned before that churning out good quality content is important to increase web traffic but that is not all. You will also need to optimise your each and every blog post with search engine keywords which is what I have done for the whole of today. I went through all my blog entries starting from the first, optimising all of them with search engine keywords. It is very tedious and mine is considered quite a new blog. Imagine you have a blog that is not SEO optimised and you have hundreds of entries. Thank God I have a very useful wordpress plugin.
This is one thing I would suggest new bloggers to do. Optimise your blog early on so that you do not have to go through every single one. Go over to http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/all-in-one-seo-pack/ to download this useful wordpress plugins if you are a wordpress user. Upload this plugin into your plugins directory and activate it. When you start on a new post, you will be able to see it below. Click on the + sign to expand it.
Enter your title which must contain your search engine keywords. Do not enter more than 5 keywords into the keyword field. It will finally appear in the meta tags which will be read by the web spider.
Scatter your search engine keywords in your title, first paragraph and last paragraph. Do not overuse your keywords by repeating it many times or the web spider will think that you are keyword spamming. Keep it to 4 of the same keywords or less than 5% of the whole article.
After you have done all that, copy a small section of your blog entry that contains your keywords into the description. You are now ready to publish it. It will take a while for the Google to index your blog but it’s good for long term web traffic.
